Ford 144 Inline 6 Cylinder Engine

The Ford 144 inline 6 cylinder engine was used in production vehicles from 1960 to 1964. It was first seen in the Ford Falcon in 1960. The Ford 144 was nothing to write home about in regards to horsepower (85 bhp) but when it came to gas mileage it definitely would put a smile on most anyone’s face. This little engine was often reported getting 25 to 30 miles to the gallon which in even today’s standards is not bad and quite incredible for an engine produced in the 1960s.
